The Heart Behind the Hustle: What I Learned from Visiting a Home Care Team in San Antonio

By Regina, Founder of Ascension Business Solutions

For Home Care Agencies Ready to Lead with Heart

Last week, I had the absolute honor of flying into San Antonio for a site visit with one of our newest clients, Caring Senior Services.

Now, I’ve been in health care for over 15 years, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many home care owners and teams across the country — but let me tell you: this visit hit differently. This wasn’t just a team. This was a family. And I don’t say that lightly.

From the moment I walked through their doors, the energy was contagious.
Laughter in the breakroom.
Team members teasing each other like siblings.
Banter flying across the office like it was a family barbecue instead of a business day.

It was real. It was raw. It was refreshing.
And honestly — it was beautiful.

Culture That Starts at the Top

Let’s talk about Jeff, the leader behind Caring Senior Services.
This man is everything you hope a home care leader would be — experienced, grounded, and incredibly humble. But what struck me the most wasn’t just his track record (which is impressive, by the way). It was the way his leadership shows up in his team.

You could feel the culture he’s built — one where people feel safe, seen, and supported. That kind of love and connection doesn’t just happen by accident. It’s intentional. It’s cultivated.

And as someone who works with home care owners every day, I can tell you this: when the team feels cared for, the clients will too.

Why This Matters for Your Home Care Business

If you’re a home care agency owner reading this, maybe you’ve felt that tension — the burnout, the pressure, the feeling like you’re holding everything up on your own. But here’s what I saw in San Antonio:

A thriving business doesn’t start with better systems — it starts with a stronger culture.

Yes, we can help you with back-end operations, VA delegation, content systems, and strategic growth plans (and we do that really well!).
But none of that works if the heart of the business — your team, your mission, your “why” — is running on empty.

That’s why at Ascension Business Solutions, we always start with people. Because people build the systems. People build the care. People are the business.

What’s Next for Caring Senior Services?

We’re so excited to walk alongside Jeff and his team in this next chapter of growth. Together, we’re going to help refine their backend support, align their systems with their mission, and make sure they have more time to focus on what matters most: caring for their clients and supporting each other like the family they are.

And if you’re a home care agency owner reading this and thinking,

“I want that too…”

Friend — you can have it.

Let’s Talk About Your Business

Every home care agency has its own story. Yours deserves to grow in a way that feels aligned, sustainable, and soul-filling.

If you’re ready to step into that kind of support — with systems that actually serve you and a team that actually gets you — then let’s connect.
