A Day of Hope: ABS Brings Early Christmas to the Children of PREDA Foundation

When you work in home care or healthcare, you quickly learn that the greatest impact we can ever make rarely happens in boardrooms or strategy meetings. It happens in moments of pure humanity. Moments when we choose to show up for someone else simply because we can.

That is exactly what Ascension Business Solutions (ABS) experienced this Quarter 3 when our team visited the PREDA Foundation — a globally recognized organization in the Philippines that provides healing, safety, and dignity to children who have lived through extremely difficult circumstances.

This visit wasn’t just an outreach activity.
It was a reminder of who we are, what we stand for, and why our mission matters — not just in business, but in life.

Who Is PREDA Foundation? A Safe Haven of Hope

The PREDA Foundation has spent decades fighting for the rights, protection, and rehabilitation of children who have suffered trauma, exploitation, or abandonment. PREDA offers:

  • A safe home

  • Therapy and emotional recovery

  • Education and life skills training

  • Legal support and child protection

  • A place to rebuild dreams

Walking into PREDA is like stepping into a sanctuary where brokenness meets compassion, where pain is met with healing, and where fear is replaced with hope.

It is a place where children rediscover their worth.
And where their dreams — no matter how big — are nurtured.

Bringing Early Christmas to PREDA: A Mission From the Heart

As part of our Q3 team initiative, ABS wanted to do something deeply meaningful. Instead of a typical team-building event, we wanted our efforts to reflect our core values:
Love. Support. Excellence.

So, we decided to bring an Early Christmas celebration to PREDA — a moment of joy, comfort, and connection.

Our team prepared for days:

  • Buying gifts

  • Packing treats and essentials

  • Organizing supplies

  • Preparing small surprises

  • Bringing a Filipino-style Christmas spirit to the children

Coming from the U.S. context of Thanksgiving — a season about gratitude — we brought that same spirit to the Philippines. But for the children of PREDA, what they received was something even more special:

The warmth of a Filipino Christmas tradition — gifts from the heart, given with love.

The Most Beautiful Part: Hearing Their Dreams

The highlight of our visit wasn’t the gifts, the smiles, or the games — although those moments were beautiful.

It was the moment we sat down and asked the children one question:
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Their answers left our entire team in tears.

“I want to be a psychologist so I can help other children heal.”
“I want to be a lawyer to fight for justice.”
“I want to become a teacher.”
“I want to be a policeman to protect the young.”

These were not just children answering out of imagination.
These were young souls who have seen darkness — choosing light.
Choosing purpose.
Choosing to become protectors and healers themselves.

And in that moment, we realized something powerful
Hope is contagious. Healing multiplies. And purpose grows even in the most unexpected places.

What This Means to Us in Our Community

As a company serving the home care and healthcare industry, our visit to PREDA was a reflection of the very values that guide our work every day.

Because whether we are supporting seniors in home care, helping healthcare agencies grow, or serving clients through virtual assistance — the foundation is the same:
Care. Dignity. Compassion. Humanity.

Our visit reminded us that:

Care is not a task.
Care is a calling.
Care is a responsibility we carry with heart and purpose.

For home care owners and healthcare leaders, this mission resonates deeply.
Every day, you support families, protect the vulnerable, uplift lives, and help individuals maintain dignity — often during their most fragile moments.

Seeing the children at PREDA reminded us of the heart behind everything we do.
It re-centered our mission at ABS:
to empower the caregivers, leaders, and agencies who serve with compassion every single day.

Our experience showed us that care doesn’t stop at the workplace.
It extends into the community, into our values, and into how we choose to show up — even when nobody is watching.

Gratitude for a Meaningful Q3

This meaningful mission was directed by Regina, our CEO, who wanted our Q3 team building to be more than a company event. She wanted it to create impact — real, lasting, memorable impact.

We are grateful:

  • To PREDA Foundation for welcoming us with open arms

  • To the children who trusted us with their stories and dreams

  • To the ABS team who gave their whole heart to this mission

  • To the spirit of kindness and giving that inspired us

This was more than outreach.
This was a reminder of who we are — a company built on love, support, and excellence.

As the Holidays Approach: A Call to Inspire, Connect, and Care

Thanksgiving in the U.S. is about gratitude.
Christmas in the Philippines is about togetherness and generosity.

This visit brought both worlds together in a powerful way.

As we move into the holiday season, may we all remember what truly matters:
Caring for those who cannot repay us.
Showing love where it’s needed most.
Bringing hope where it’s been lost.
And choosing compassion as a way of life.

And if your home care or healthcare agency believes in service with heart — if you want to partner with a company that stands for dignity, compassion, and meaningful impact — we would love to connect with you.
